Prairies ---
Naming: names are not limited in any selection, except for one simple rule; the first part of the name has to be Herbo [female] or Himbo [male]
Hierarchy: the Prairies are a peaceful group filled with manners. There is no cat in control, but an abstract code of mannerisms exists.
A gentleman always allows a lady to go first
Respect those older than you no matter whom they are
Treat others as you would a loved one.
Never use the name of your ancestors cruelly
Do not kill. Bloodshed is forbidden unless against a predator or prey.
Never raise your claws to elderly, youths, or ladies.
Help those weaker than you.
Address cats by their full name if you do not know them well.
Always introduce yourself before asking for another's name.
Do not court a mated cat. It's disrespectful to all involved cats.
Above all else, know you are loved, treasured, and valued.
One cat, simply known as "Bo" is often referred to as the creator of the Prairies and their name is often spoken fondly.
The simply hierarchy format would be:
Code of mannerisms
Elders
Mothers and expecting queens
Hunters
Kittens
Elders: simply referred to as the older cat of the Prairies. If they are older than you, they are your Elder. This does not mean they are very old! Very old cats are known as Seniors.
Mothers and Almost Queens: treated with much respect and dignity. It is their job to raise the young and as females, the males treat them very nicely, as the Code of Mannerisms instructs.
Hunters: they provide food for expecting mothers and cats too old to hunt for themselves. Cats generally hunt for themselves in the Prairies, but if you are unable to catch anything no Hunter will allow you to go hungry. You will be fed and wished better hunting the next day.
Kittens: raised by their mothers until their fourth moon, they are taught the code of mannerisms by their parents. Once they reach four moons a Hunter will teach them how to hunt properly and an Elder will teach them how to properly fight should they encounter a predator. Once they reach ten months old, they are free to do what they want. Whether that be travel the world, or stay with their kin, they will always have a home to return to.
Ancestors:
The Prairies believe highly on free choice. Therefore they believe your spirit decides where you go after death. They can do as they please. Every year on the first snowfall a celebration of the dead is held, and Prairie cats who've left and those who still live there join together to honor their ancestors who've preserved the code of mannerisms for so long. At the end of the festival the Prairie cats part ways with those who came to visit for the festival, and when the moon rises each cat makes a silent wish.
It's said that if you were faithful to the code of mannerisms then your ancestors will grant your wish.
Acceptance policies:
The Prairies don't discriminate. If you aren't from there, they'll gladly welcome you in, treat you to a warm bed and shelter, feed you, and wish you well travels. If you choose to stay, they'll keep your name, just add Himbo or Herbo to the beginning of it, and a Senior will instruct you the code of mannerisms.
When a Prairies cat leaves the Prairies a goodbye ceremony is held.
Each Prairies cat will gather a single white dandelion, being very careful not to blow away the seeds, and when sunrise hits they will blow the dandelions collectively over the leaving cat, sending them wishes of safe travels and shelter.
Any cat that leaves the Prairies is always welcome back.
Exile:
Cats are exiled only if they murder another cat in cold blood. Self-defense is okay. (E.g. if Himbo Qinn attacks Herbo Jessy and Jessy kills Qinn in order to protect herself, she won't be exiled.)
