Ranks and Stats

Warrior Sanctuary utilizes a ranking system with requirements that must be roleplayed and fulfilled to rank up and participate in official battles. Each rank receives different Health Points (HP) and Stamina Points (SP).

Please know that these ranks do not reflect the in-character age of a cat; that is up to a roleplayer! The rank system aims solely to reflect the experience and growth of a cat. Characters who have been in and survived more battles will have more experience than those who've been in none and their HP and SP will reflect their skill.

There is no penalty for having a disabled cat, unless you wish to lower your own stats. Otherwise, it is assumed that disabled cats have adapted to their disability enough to still be able to fight.

→Clan cats who are exiled from / leave a Clan will keep the stats they had while in the Clan (e.g. an exiled Junior Warrior would retain the HP/SP of a Junior Warrior); they may rejoin a Clan without losing their rank OR rank up as a Rogue.
→ Medicine Cats who transfer to warrior life must restart at Junior Warrior rank (or Apprentice rank at Clan leader's discretion).
→Warriors who transfer to Medicine Cat life must restart at Junior Medicine Cat rank and stats (or MCA rank at Clan leader's discretion). The former warrior may keep their full name or change it; however, they must fulfill the Medicine Cat Apprentice requirements before they are considered a full-fledged Medicine Cat.
→ Rogues of any tier who join Clan life may do so without restriction, retaining their tier (translated directly to Warrior tiers). At the Clan leader's discretion, they may have to undergo apprentice training - however, this will not impact their stats.
→ If you become an Elder before Senior Warrior or Senior Medicine Cat, you will retire with your current stats and you will not jump to the listed elder HP/SP. Special circumstances may be considered.

Rank Requirements
Rank requirements are a combination of time a user must wait before obtaining the next rank or tier and specific types of in-character development topics. Each rank may have slightly different wait times and/or required topics that must be fulfilled before work can begin on the next one.
The wait times are included so that a character cannot go from a Kit to a Senior Warrior over the course of a month. Experience comes over time, and we wish to encourage in-character development whenever possible. The real-life time requirement doesn't have an impact on your cat's in-character age.
Put your rank in the Clan/Rank section of your profile or in your signature so everybody can see it and know your HP/SP.

If your character goes from a medicine cat to a warrior or a warrior to a medicine cat, they must restart with the first tier of requirements for their new rank. Switching Clans does not undo your progress. An exiled Clan cat may keep their progress upon joining a new Clan if the new leader allows it.

Kit -> Apprentice; 1 week since creation

→ Post at least once in-character in any thread

Apprentice -> Junior Warrior; 2 weeks since apprentice ceremony (or 3 weeks since creation, if starting at Apprentice)

→ Complete one prey hunt OR achieve a Moment of Heroism
→ Complete one battle or herb hunt OR achieve a Moment of Heroism
→ Commune with StarClan at least once
→ Perform a Clan-specific coming of age ritual

Junior Warrior -> Experienced Warrior; 2 months since last rank up (or 3 months since creation, if starting at Junior Warrior*)

→ Complete two prey hunts OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Complete two battles or herb hunts OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Learn about another cat's culture

Experienced Warrior -> Senior Warrior; 4 months since last rank up

→ Complete two prey hunts OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Complete two battles or herb hunts OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Commune with StarClan at least two more times
→ Act as a mentor to another cat (who can be, but does not have to be, an Apprentice)

Medicine Cat Apprentice -> Junior Medicine Cat; 2 weeks since apprentice ceremony (or 3 weeks since creation, if starting at Apprentice)

→ Heal two cats OR achieve a Moment of Heroism
→ Complete one battle or herb hunt OR achieve a Moment of Heroism
→ Commune with StarClan at least once

Junior Medicine Cat -> Experienced Medicine Cat; 2 months since last rank up (or 3 months since creation, if starting at Junior Warrior*)

→ Heal two cats OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Complete two battles or herb hunts OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Commune with StarClan at least two more times

Junior Medicine Cat -> Senior Medicine Cat; 4 months since last rank up

→ Complete Heal three cats OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Complete two battles or herb hunts OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Commune with StarClan at least three more times

Fledgling Rogue -> Junior Rogue; 2 weeks since creation

→ Complete one prey hunt OR achieve a Moment of Heroism
→ Complete one battle or herb hunt OR achieve a Moment of Heroism
→ Interact with another cat's culture at least once

Junior Rogue -> Senior Rogue; 3 months since last rank up (or 4 months since creation, if starting as a Junior Rogue)

→ Complete two prey hunts OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Complete two battles or herb hunts OR achieve two Moments of Heroism
→ Interact with another cat's culture at least three times
→ Act as a mentor to another cat

*note: Clan cats must start as Kits or Apprentices.

Moments of Heroism

Every cat finds a way to distinguish themselves somehow, making a name for themselves and earning their rank; these are known as Moments of Heroism. There is no strict definition on what counts as a Moment of Heroism, but your cat must go above and beyond in order to demonstrate their skill, endurance, or spirit. If you'd probably get a medal for it in real life, it would likely count as a Moment of Heroism for your cat. A Moment of Heroism can be used to fill one requirement at a time.

Some examples of Moments of Heroism are:
→ Save another cat from certain death.
→ Neutralise a significant threat to your Clan.
→ Carry out an important role in a critical mission.
→ Make a great sacrifice for another cat.
This list is not exhaustive; if you think your cat has had a Moment of Heroism that isn't on this list, ask the community, and if the general consensus is 'yes', it counts!
